College green is a condominium project in east Fullerton, CA.
It was built in the early 1960s, about 1963.
All these years it has been essentially self managed by volunteer board members, at very low cost to the residents.
The common area association fees have consequently been kept low for a number of years.
Some years ago there was a management company involved, and that was much more expensive than volunteer management like we have had for some time.
Of course this depends on residents being involved, volunteering to help. Fortunately that has been possible because we have many nice helpful neighbors who are willing to pitch in. It's all to our advantage, after all. The more we can do ourselves the less we have to pay someone else to do for us. I'm not talking about repaving the streets, but things like meeting with contractors and getting bids on painting, paving, whatever. Walking the property and making a list of things that need maintenance. Stuff like that.
There's always room for more help!
