It's almost annual HOA meeting time. The meeting and election is Thursday night, January 26, 2012. You heard it here first, at least online!
As usual the meeting is at Topaz School at 7:30 PM.
You should have received your secret ballot from The Ballot Box, an orange paper.
If not call them at 888-558-2887 and ask for one to be sent.
Running this year are the usual members of the current board running as a group, "The New Era" board.
Throwing her hat in the ring this year is Laverne Boyd, the former paid board secretary and association manager.
As usual you can vote for 5 candidates, or if you are so inclined you can vote all 5 of your votes for one candidate. Stuffing the ballot box, so to speak.
Just wanted to clarify that Laverne (Vern) Boyd was never a paid secretary. The position of secretary is not a paying position. Vern served as the VOLUNTEER secretary for College Greens for 16 years. She voluntarily provided her home office as the official office for College Greens. In addition, she served as the bookkeeper for College Greens, which was a paid position at a lower cost than the current bookkeeper. She retired from that position in 2010 and received an award from the current board for outstanding service as a bookkeeper. She is now running for the 2012 College Greens Board of Directors.
ReplyDeleteWell, OK, but that's semantics. She was a paid something. You are talking about secretary, a parliamentary position which apparently Vern Boyd was as a volunteer. I was talking about secretary, as in an assistant. Clearly she served in that capacity, as a bookkeeper and assistant.
ReplyDeleteThe duties of a bookkeeper are strictly bookkeeping. Everything else including providing a free office, email, phone at her expense, and all the other duties she did were on a volunteer basis. The current bookkeeper does not provide any other of these services. Just wanted to clear up that confusion.
