Along Bradford, between the sidewalk and the street there is a spot of bare dirt. It's about a couple hundred feet long. About 6' wide.
It has been bare dirt since, well, 1963 I think. We have never maintained it, and we don't have any access to it.
It's sure not the same as the parkway along Topaz which we have to look at and have landscaped, watered and mowed since well, 1963.
See the difference?
There has been a proposal to pave it at our expense at a cost of $6000-$9000. The board got a quote from a company to pave it.
I suggest we should not start maintaining it or taking responsibility for it after all these years, it's city property after all and there are no openings in the fence on that side. So we can't see it unless we go around.
It's a bad precedent us taking responsibility for it after well, 49 years.
We need to get the city to take it over and maintain it since we have never been responsible for it and now is not the time to start. And we might need the money. See the next post!
What do you think?
